Early German Pull-Toy "Brown-Haired Lady with Basket of Flowers"

15" (38 cm.) Standing upon a wooden platform with metal spoked wheels is a bisque head doll with swivel head on bisque shoulderplate, sculpted brown short curly hair, cobalt blue glass inset eyes, painted lashes, single stroke brows, accented nostrils, closed mouth, wooden block torso, paper mache hands and lower legs. When pulled along the doll turns her head side to side, and lifts up and down the bouquet of flowers she is holding. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: Germany, circa 1870. Value Points: rare early mechanical toy, highlighted by rare brown hair and cobalt eyes, well functioning movements, wearing original costume and holding an additional woven basket of silk flowers.
