One-piece chip-carved wooden head and torso, brown natural finish of wood, well-defined features, brown painted eyes, firmly set lips, brunette mohair wig, dowel-jointed shoulders, elbows, hips and knees. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: the doll represents Madelaine De Verchere, an 18th century Canadian pioneer hero; included is children's book "Madeleine Takes Command" featuring this hero. Value Points: unique one-of-a-kind doll with strong presence of carving, original costume including wooden rifle.
