15" (38 cm.) Bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulderplate, blue glass enamel inset eyes with darker blue iris rims, dark eyeliner, delicately-painted lashes and brows, accented nostrils, closed mouth with upturned lip corners, accented lips, pierced ears, brunette cropped wig over cork pate, kid poupee body, costumed as gentleman in black formal suit, felt hat, shoes, undergarments. Condition: generally excellent, body especially sturdy except wear to hands. Marks: F. Comments: Leon Casimir Bru, circa 1872, the smiling face model was deposed in that year. Value Points: wonderful expression on the handsome gentleman enhanced by finest bisque.
