12" (30 cm.) Bisque socket head, blue glass eyes with darker blue outer iris rims, painted lashes, short feathered brows, rose blushed eye shadow, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with accent line between the heart-shaped lips, plump cheeks, pierced ears, blonde mohair wig over Steiner pate, French composition fully-jointed body. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: Ste A 2/0 (incised head) J. Steiner Bte SGDG Bourgoin (red script, head). (caduceus stamp on torso). Comments: Jules Steiner, circa 1882. Value Points: especially gentle expression complemented by delicate complexion, original body and body finish, beautiful antique costume.
