16" (41 cm.) One-piece carved wooden figure of adult woman posed as though dancing, oval shaped face with sculpted brown hair drawn behind pierced ears into a casual chignon captured under original silk pleated snood, enamel eyes, strong nose, mouth sculpted with slightly-parted lips, defined tongue tip and teeth, shapely bosom and waist, arms posed in front of body with separate fingers. Condition: doll is excellent with original finish overall except touch-up on three fingers, costume is original with some age wear. Comments: Continental, late 1700s. Value Points: rare model with outstanding sculpting and portrayal, original costume includes wonderful silk pleated snood.
