25" (64 cm.) Poured wax shoulderhead, blue glass sleep eyes which operate from a wire lever in torso, outlined brows and eyeliner, accented eye corners and nostrils, closed mouth with shaded lips, delicately inserted brunette hair, softly-stuffed muslin body, poured wax lower limbs with brass grommet attachments. Condition: generally excellent, light typical fading, 1" split at top of left leg. Marks: Mrs. Peck the Doll's Home 131 Regent St. London W (original stamp on torso). Comments: English, the doll was presented at the luxury doll shop of Lucy Peck, circa 1875. Value Points: having appealing gentle expression, the doll is further enhanced by original signature, rare wire lever eyes, and lavish original silk dress with matching embroidered silk cape, undergarments, shoes, socks, and ruffled bonnet.
