23" (58 cm.) Bisque socket head with light-amber tinted complexion, slender face and throat, side-angled narrow eye cuts with brown glass sleep eyes, thick dark eyeliner, painted curly lashes, incised eyeliner, black brushstroked and feathered brows, accented nostrils, open mouth with outlined lips, four porcelain teeth, pierced ears, black mohair wig in up-swept manner, amber-tinted composition and wooden ball-jointed body. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: SH 1129-10 Dep Germany. Comments: Simon and Halbig, circa 1895, from their Asian series of portrait models, the model was deposed in 1893. Value Points: rare-to-find in this large size 10, the larger size allowing very fine detail of sculpting to show more clearly, including crinkles at eye and lip corners, dimpled chin and philtrum, and having fine lustrous patina on the flawless complexion, original body and body finish, antique costume.
