15" (38 cm.) Porcelain head with flat-cut neck socket depicting a young child with rounded facial modeling, sculpted brown hair with shaded details and feathering around the forehead, painted blue eyes, black upper eyeliner, single stroke brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with accent line between the lips, blushed cheeks, original taufling body with twill torso and bellows midriff which "cries" when squeezed, pink-tinted porcelain lower limbs with cupped hands and bare feet. Condition: generally excellent, professional restoration to back shoulderplate, repair to back left leg. Comments: Germany, circa 1860. Value Points: extremely rare early doll has superb sculpting, color and style of hair, original taufling body.
