Description
9 1/2" (24 cm.) Paper mache shoulderhead with sculpted black hair arranged with ringlet curls over each ear and drawn backward into an arranged topknot at back crown, painted facial features, blue eyes, single-stroke brows, tiny closed mouth, slender kid body, wooden lower limbs, painted dark blue flat shoes. Condition: very good, light craquelure on front shoulderplate, unplayed with. Comments: Germany, circa 1840. Value Points: rare coiffure, wearing original gown, petticoat, faux-leggings with lace edging.
