Description
20" (51 cm.) The metal horse with painted white finish and elaborate leather harness is supported by a small spoked wheel and is pulling a tinplate two-wheel cart with woven carriage seat. The mechanical clockwork is hidden below, and when wound, the carriage briskly moves forward. Condition: generally excellent, original finish with few rubs, mechanism functions well. Comments: French, attributed to Theroude, circa 1870. Value Points: rare early toy with original finish, horsehair mane and tail, original harness.
