9 1/2" (24 cm.) Polychromed terra cotta shoulderhead turned sharply to the side with up-tilted face, sculpted blonde hair loosely waved from face into large coiled bun at the back, with tendrils onto her nape, sharply-chiseled angular features and incised age wrinkles, enamel eyes, tow-wrapped posable armature body, carved wooden lower arms and legs, painted stockings and shoes, wearing original costume of village lady. Excellent condition. Neapolitan, early 1800s.
