23" (58 cm.) Bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulderplate, brilliant cobalt blue glass inset eyes with spiral threading, dark eyeliner, painted lashes, arched feathered brows, shaded nostrils, closed mouth with outlined lips, ears pierced into head, brunette mohair wig over cork pate, French kid poupee body with shapely torso, gusset-jointing elbows, hips and knees, stitched and separated fingers. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: French, circa 1860. Value Points: enchanting tentative smile on the beautiful early poupee, brilliant eyes, very sturdy original body and wig, lovely antique costume includes early leather boots in the Huret manner with elastic side panels, linen skirt, black jacket with scalloped edging, undergarments, bonnet.
