23" (58 cm.) Bisque socket head with plump round face, very full cheeks, blue glass paperweight inset eyes, very dark eyeliner, painted lashes, brushstroked and fringed brows, rose blushed eye shadow, accented eye corners, shaded nostrils, closed mouth with shaded and outlined lips, pierced ears, blonde mohair wig over Steiner pate, Steiner composition fully jointed body. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: Sie C 5 (head) J. St. (and caduceus sign on torso). Comments: Jules Steiner, circa 1884. Value Points: compelling gentle expression on the plump-faced child with soft rosy blush on cheeks, chin and eyelids, finest bisque, original body and body finish, beautiful antique costume.
