26" (66 cm.) Pressed bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulder plate with modeled bosom and shoulder blades, brown paperweight inset eyes with darker iris rims, thick dark eyeliner dramatizes the eyes, painted lashes, mauve-blushed eye shadow, brushstroked brows with feathered highlights, shaded nostrils, closed mouth with defined space between the full outlined lips, delicately-painted teeth, very full cheeks, pierced ears, blonde mohair wig over cork pate, kid bebe body with gusset-jointing at hips and knees, curved upper arms, bisque forearms, wearing lovely antique silk faille maroon dress, undergarments, shoes, stockings, and very elaborate silk frou-frou bonnet. Condition: generally excellent. Some kid patching on arms, left baby finger restored. Marks: (crescent/circle and dot symbol on head) Depose (front shoulder plate) (partial original paper label on chest). Comments: Leon Casimir Bru, circa 1880. Value Points: extremely rare luxury size model, likely intended for Exhibition purposes, with superb detail of sculpting and painting, including rare painted teeth.
