16" (41 cm.) All-cloth doll with pressed and oil-painted dark brown hair with forelock curls and facial features, shaded brown eyes with spiral threading, white eye dots, black and brown upper eyeliner, closed mouth in downcast pouting expression, shaped blush-painted ears, stitch-jointing at shoulders, disc-jointed legs, separately stitched thumbs, early costume. Condition: generally excellent, delicate nose rub. Marks: Germany Kathe Kruse 56217. Comments: Kathe Kruse, circa 1915. Value Points: early model with most endearing expression and humble posture, fine original painting of facial features.
