33" (84 cm.) Pressed bisque socket head with full cheeks and chin, amber-brown glass paperweight inset eyes, thick dark eyeliner, painted lashes, mauve-blushed eye shadow, lightly-feathered brows, accented eye corners and nostrils, closed mouth with defined space between the outlined lips, heart-shaped upper lip, prominent dimple on chin and at lip corners, pierced ears, long blonde mohair wig over cork pate, French composition and wooden fully-jointed body with straight wrists, very fine early silk costume, undergarments, bonnet and leather shoes. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: B 6 M. Comments: Mothereau, circa 1884. Value Points: exceptional quality of bisque, sculpting and painting; few dolls are known to exist by this short-lived firm and models of this size and quality are virtually unknown indicating the doll was created as an exhibition model.
