Description
11" (28 cm.) Porcelain shoulderhead doll with black sculpted hair arranged with sculpted snood, painted facial features has wooden block torso, metal hands looped to hold carriage handle bar, metal legs with disc-jointing at legs, metal feet, antique costume, and is attached to a tin and cast iron three-wheeled carriage which, when wound, causes the girl to lift her feet up and down moving the carriage along. Condition: very good, doll excellent, carriage finish original albeit a tad worn. Comments: from the original patent design of William Goodwin, circa 1875, the doll was made with either porcelain, bisque, or paper mache head. Value Points: good early American toy with simple yet charming action.
