34" (86 cm.) Bisque socket head with very full cheeks, deep blue glass paperweight inset eyes, thick dark eyeliner, painted lashes, brushstroked brows, mauve blushed eye shadow, shaded nostrils, closed mouth with shaded and outlined lips, impressed chin and philtrum dimples, separately modeled pierced ears, blonde mohair wig over cork pate, French composition and wooden fully-jointed body with very plump limbs and straight wrists. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: 16 (head) Jumeau Medaille d'Or Paris (body). Comments: Emile Jumeau, the very rare largest size, 16, of the portrait bebe sculpted by Carrier-Belleuse, circa 1882. Value Points: rare size, gorgeous bisque enhanced by depth and clarity of paperweight eyes, original body and body finish, lovely costume including rare cream kidskin shoes signed "16 E.Jumeau Med d'Or Paris" having double ankle wraps and double ivory silk rosettes on each shoe.
