28" (71 cm.) Bisque socket head with rounded plump face, large brown glass paperweight inset eyes, dark eyeliner, painted lashes with dot hightlights, lightly feathered brows, rose-blushed eye shadow, shaded nostrils, pierced ears, closed mouth with outlined lips, impressed chin dimple at philtrum, brunette mohair wig, cork pate, Steiner composition fully-jointed body with straight wrists. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: Sie C 6 (incised) Steiner Bte SGDG Bourgoin St. (red lettering). Comments: Jules Steiner, circa 1880. Value Points: finest expression enhanced by delicate bisque and subtle blushing, original body and body finish, wearing antique white pique cutwork dress, undergarments, black leather shoes with brown silk rosettes.
