Composition head of eager-faced pup with large brown eyes, painted facial features and fur, on all-wooden body with ball-swivel neck and waist, jointing at hips and knees, and wooden segmented tail. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: Bones Des. & copyright by Jos. L. Kallus (lettering on original red leather collar) Cameo Doll Do, Art Quality, NYC, Patent Applied For (label on torso). Comments: Cameo, circa 1930. Value Points: one of the rarest delightful wooden characters designed by Joseph Kallus, the redoubtable American doll artist and mentor of early/mid 1900s.
