Description
10" (25 cm.) width. 8"h. The wooden two-drawer chest features bombe shaping on front and side, gracefully arched feet, ogee shaped edging of top, and is finished with gilt paint that is enhanced by painted scenes of children and cherubs at the top and sides, and by painted garlands which appear to weave between the cast bronze gilded drawer pulls. Excellent condition. French, circa 1880.
