15" (38 cm.) Bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulderplate, cobalt blue glass enamel eyes, dark eyeliner, painted lashes, feathered brows, rose blushed eye shadow, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with outlined lips, unpierced ears, blonde mohair wig over cork pate, kid poupee body with gusset jointing at elbows, hips and knees. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: Au Papa Etrennes Boulevd. Poissonniere 23 Paris (stamp on front torso). Comments: Paris, circa 1865, the poupee was presented in the Parisian boutique of Au Papa Etrennes; the boutique's advertising indicated that it specialized in dressed and undressed poupees and doll trousseaux. Value Points: especially beautiful poupee with softly blushed complexion, original wig, sturdy body with boutique label, original muslin gown with rose silk trim.
