Description
16" (41 cm.) Bisque shoulderhead with slender face and elongated throat, light brown sculpted hair framing the face with thick loose braids and forming into a tightly-braided chignon at the back of head, blue painted eyes, red and black upper eyeliner, closed mouth, blushed cheeks, muslin stitch-jointed body, bisque lower arms. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: 974 Karina 1864 (hand written inside shoulderplate) 2X (inscribed). Comments: Germany, circa 1875. Value Points: rare coiffure, the lady is wearing black taffeta two-piece suit, blouse, undergarments, shoes, and owns a domed top trunk with decorative lift-out tray, along with various costume elements, and various accessories including shoes, gloves, lorgnette, parasol, little book titled "Dew Drops".
