Description
14" (36 cm.) Solid domed bisque socket head, sculpted boyish hair with well-defined forelock curls, tiny blue glass sleep eyes, painted lashes, single stroke tiny brows, closed mouth with downcast pouting lips, full cheeks, composition and wooden ball-jointed toddler body with shortened thighs, curled fingers, antique costume. Condition: generally excellent, original body and body finish. Marks: Fany 230 A 3 M DRNR 2 (head) Au Nain Bleu Paris (paper label on torso). Comments: Marseille, circa 1912. Value Points: the wistful faced character has excellent modeling, and store label indicating the doll was originally sold at the prestige Parisian doll shop.
