Description
13" (33 cm.) Bisque socket head with richly-shaded sienna complexion, painted facial features, brown upper glancing eyes, thick black upper eyeliner, very strong nose with flared nostrils, black one stroke brows, closed mouth with solemn expression, black mohair wig in long braid, sienna composition and wooden ball-jointed body. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: 1303 Germany S&H 2/0. Comments: Simon and Halbig, circa 1910 from their art character series. Value Points: outstanding quality of sculpted facial features with furrowed lines around the nose bridge, eye corners, and mouth, flawless complexion, original wig, original body and body finish, and wearing fine antique costume. The doll has two blue ribbon awards from UFDC conventions of 1969 and 1996.
