24" (61 cm.) Bisque socket head, brown glass sleep eyes, dark eyeliner, painted lashes, rose-blushed eyeshadow, brushstroked and feathered brows, accented eye corners, shaded nostrils, blonde mohair wig, composition and wooden ball-jointed body, antique costume. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: 15. Comments: Kestner, circa 1885, the doll closely resembles the French bebe marked A.T., by Thuillier whose market the doll attempted to capture. Value Points: the rarity of the doll is rivaled by its superb quality of bisque and painting, the larger size allowing finest definition of features, original body and body finish.
