19" (48 cm.) Bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulder head, very large blue glass paperweight inset eyes with darker blue outer iris rims, dark eyeliner, painted lashes, brushstroked and feathered brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, pierced ears, closed mouth with pale outlined lips, blonde mohair wig with original "flottante" coiffure, kid poupee body with gusset jointing at hips and knees, stitched and separated fingers. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: 4 (head) Jumeau Medaille d'Or Paris (body). Comments: Emile Jumeau, circa 1878, a rare transitional model, the head having the dramatic large eyes of the earliest bebes. Value Points: very beautiful poupee, beautiful bisque, near mint firm kid body, original wig, wearing original muslin chemise and earrings.
