20" (51 cm.) Bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulder plate with modeled bosom and shoulder blade, very plump cheeks and chin, brown glass paperweight inset eyes, black eyeliner, painted lashes, rose blushed eye shadow, brush-stroked and feathered brows, accented eye corners, shaded nostrils, closed mouth with outlined lips, pierced ears, blonde mohair wig over cork pate, plump kid bebe body with gusset-jointing of hips and knees, one-piece curved kid upper arms, bisque lower arms and hands. Condition: generally excellent, very faint 2" horizontal hairline, likely original, on lower front shoulderplate. Marks: Bru Jne 7 (head) No. 7 (shoulderplate). Comments: Leon Casimir Bru, his earliest bebe known as Bebe Brevete, circa 1877. Value Points: very beautiful bebe with most gentle expression, delicate bisque and complexion wonderfully contrast the plump face, original body including superbly sculpted bisque hands, beautiful antique rose silk dress, bonnet, shoes with silk rosettes, parasol.
