12" (30 cm.) basket. 9" doll. An egg-shaped woven basket in contrasting pink and natural rattan colors hinges open to reveal a well-fitted interior, highlighted by a bisque doll with socket head, brown sleep eyes, painted features, open mouth, four tiny teeth, blonde mohair wig, composition flapper style body with painted socks and shoes, jointing at shoulders and hips, wearing original silk dress and undergarments, pink knit bonnet. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: Simon & Halbig K*R Germany 23. Comments: Kammer and Reinhardt, circa 1915, the basket for presentation in Paris boutique such as Au Nain Bleu. Value Points: fine pristine original condition, the trousseau includes an additional ensemble, silk cap, woven jacket and booties, along with various toiletries, comb, brush, and opera glasses.
