Description
11" (28 cm.) Carved wooden head, carved hair in very distinctive coiffure having comb-marked oval medallion at the center of forehead, with part line behind, cut in short bob with curved front edges, and decorated with four red painted flowers, each with four green leaves, carved and tinted facial features, cloth body, wooden hands. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: Chinese Door of Hope Mission, circa 1925, the figure was identified as "Modern Bride". Value Points: very rare model, very fine floral hair decoration, wearing original rose silk kimono with jade-green cording, cotton trousers, pink silk slippers.
