10" (25 cm.) doll. 11"l. trunk. Wax head with strong characterization, little black bead eyes, parted lips with tiny teeth, inserted hair and beard, on wooden body with dowel-articulation at shoulders, elbows, hips and knees, wearing original silk robe. Condition: nose wear, otherwise excellent. Comments: early 1800s. Value Points: preserved in an early wooden trunk with transfer-stamped paper cover, and with interior lining of old newspapers (1792 date visible on one).
