Description
6" (15 cm.) and 8". Each has carved wooden socket head with lightly tinted complexion and facial features, firmly-stuffed cloth body, wooden hands; the larger doll with painted black hair arranged with outlined hair medallion at the forehead crown accented with red dot, and with long silk queue; and the smaller with black painted pate. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: Chinese Door of Hope mission, circa 1920. Value Points: the very rare pair of children are wonderfully-preserved, wearing matching floral-patterned twill costumes, the larger with matching slippers, and the smaller with embroidered silk cap having silk fringe "ears", silk under kimono, and kitten-faced slippers, and with original paper label.
