14" (36 cm.) The heavy tinplate cradle-shaped box with gilt rockers and finials, and with hinged lid, is richly-decorated with scenes of playful children on the sides, and a baby in taufling costume on the lid. The inside lid depicts a stork delivering a baby to a rooftop nest, and the advertising for "Strassburger Storchen-Bonbons". Excellent condition. Germany, circa 1900, the rare and wonderfully-designed candy box was designed as a luxury gift for a baby shower or Christening celebration.
