17" (43 cm.) Solid domed bisque socket head, small blue glass inset jewel-like eyes, painted brown curly lashes, single stroke brows, accented nostrils, closed mouth modeled as though open and laughing, with two modeled upper teeth, shaded and outlined lips, sculpted hair under original brunette flocked hair, French composition and wooden fully-jointed body. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: SFBJ 235 Paris 6. Comments: SFBJ, circa 1912. Value Points: especially fine quality of bisque and luminous complexion enhances the deeply-sculpted features, rare well-preserved flocked hair, original body and body finish, and wearing original French sailor costume, leather sailor cap, leather shoes signed C.M.
