12" (30 cm.) Carved wooden head, carved and painted hair with stippling at the forehead, hair looped behind her ears and captured in a coiled chignon at the back with a decorative comb and a circlet of flowers, carved and tinted facial features, cloth body, wooden hands. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: Chinese Door of Hope Mission, the doll was presented in their original 1910 brochure. Value Points: superb vibrant costume of embroidered red silk tunic with matching straight skirt and matching tiny red silk slippers, tassel trim, carrying veil which matches the face veil on her elaborately beaded headdress with red pom-pom; the doll has original paper label.
