15" (38 cm.) Bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulderplate, blue glass paperweight inset eyes, dark eyeliner, lushly-painted lashes, rose-blushed eyeshadow, brushstroked fringed brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, open mouth, double row of teeth, outlined pale lips, pierced ears, blonde mohair wig over cork pate, kid-over-carton upper torso, metal upper arms, bisque forearms with separately-sculpted fingers, cone-shaped skirt over clockwork mechanism, antique costume. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: 3 (shoulders) Au Nain Bleu (original paper label on base). Comments: Jules Steiner, circa 1875, when wound the doll glides forward and circles. Value Points: beautiful example of the deposed mechanical walking doll, with original boutique label from Au Nain Bleu.
