Description
24" (61 cm.) Bisque socket head depicting an older child, painted azure-blue eyes in well-defined eye sockets, heavily modeled eyelids, thick black upper eyeliner, one-stroke tapered brows, accented nostrils, closed mouth with very full expressive lips, light brown mohair wig, composition and wooden ball-jointed body. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: K*R 109 60. Comments: Kammer and Reinhardt, the model "Elise" from their art character reform series, circa 1910. Value Points: the largest size known of this mode is rarely found; the size as well as the superb sculpting and painting especially around the mouth, with impressed cheek and chin dimples, indicate the doll's probable origin as an Exhibition model. The doll has her original body and body finish, and superb elaborate folklore costume, undergarments, shoes, socks and coiffe.
