Carved wooden head with well-defined features, tinted eyes, brows and lips, painted black hair with unusual sculpting at nape, straight-outline of painting around the forehead to indicate matron status, and carved wooden head-piece with painted decorative detail, firmly-stuffed cloth body, carved wooden hands and lower legs with unusual carved wooden heeled slippers. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: Chinese wooden Door of Hope doll, late 1920s. Value Points: wearing her original red silk kimono and patterned pants, the doll has very rare original head-dress and carved slippers.
