17" (43 cm.) Bisque socket head with original untinted white complexion, painted blown decorations, light brown glass inset eyes, closed mouth painted as though open with brightly painted lips, pierced ears, brunette human hair over cork pate, French composition body. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: M R (in fancy incised script) J France No.3. Comments: French, circa 1910, maker uncertain although the stylized markings are in the manner of Lanternier. Value Points: rare model with unique markings, great facial decorations, wearing all original silk jester costume and cap.
