16" (41 cm.) Polychromed terra cotta shoulderhead, enamel inset eyes, sculpted black side-parted curly hair and thick bushy moustache and brows, strong nose and jaw bones, tow-wrapped posable armature body, wooden lower arms and legs, painted green stockings carved red boots with draped gilt-accented cuffs, wearing original costume comprising harem pants, fitted red silk vest with rich gilt threaded embroidery, matching lined red silk flowing cape with lavish embroidery including crown symbol, lined green silk full-length coat, and carrying brass scabbard with animal head grip. Excellent condition. Neapolitan, mid-1700s, exceptional sculpting of facial features and superb costume.
