11" (28 cm.) Carved wooden head, black carved and painted hair with feathered detail at forehead, coiled chignon with gold comb, carved and tinted facial features, cloth body, wooden hands. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: Chinese Door of Hope Mission, circa 1920, the doll was first offered in the catalog of 1910 with longer skirt. Value Points: with exquisite detail of facial modeling and dear youthful expression, wearing original pale aqua silk tunic with elaborate pink edging and frog closures, black silk skirt with cord trim over knee length pants, embroidered cream silk slippers, and elaborately beaded coiffe, with original paper label.
