Description
11" (28 cm.) Each with carved wooden head and carved and tinted facial features, the woman with painted black hair having unusual cut-back detail over ears and with comb-accented chignon at the back, cloth body with wooden hands, wearing cream cotton tunic and blue trousers, black silk slippers, and with cord that secures the baby held at her back. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: from first period of dolls created by the Door of Hope Mission, circa 1910. Value Points: both with original costumes, the baby with all-cloth body and painted forelock tufts, wearing cotton baby dress, with matching embroidered silk collar and cap, and varnished cotton print blanket.
