22" (56 cm.) Paper mache shoulder head depicting lady with oval face and elongated throat, black sculpted hair looped in front of ears and tumbling into arranged curls at the back shoulders, sculpted ears, painted features, blue eyes with darker outer rims, closed mouth, slender kid body, wooden lower limbs, lovely costume. Condition: very good, some craquelure on shoulderplate and lightly on face. Comments: Germany, circa 1840. Value Points: rare larger size of the early doll with wonderfully-sculpted hair.
