Description
8" (20 cm.) and 17". Each with sculpted hair, the larger with firm socket head, blue glass flirty eyes, lashes, open mouth, teeth, cloth body, composition-like legs, and the smaller of all-celluloid with painted features. Condition: near mint. Comments: French, Le Minor, circa 1940s. Value Points: each is preserved in its original box with lithographed design cover from the firm, Le Minor, a specialty clothing firm in Pont l'Abbe who presented a series of dolls in the 1940s representing the traditional costumes of the region and, not incidentally, promoting their couturier skills. Value Points: each doll is preserved in fine original unplayed with condition, with elaborate multi-layered costume including richly beaded cap.
