14" (36 cm.) Bisque socket head with flattened solid dome, large blue glass spiral-threaded eyes, dark eyeliner, painted lashes, brushstroked brows, rose- blushed eyeshadow, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with outlined lips, pierced ears, blonde mohair wig with side braids, Sonneberg composition and wooden fully-jointed body with straight wrists, pretty antique costume and bonnet. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: 6. Comments: Sonneberg, circa 1885, maker unknown, the doll was designed to compete with the French bebe of the era, which it closely resembles. Value Points: very beautiful doll with fine spiral-threaded eyes, original body and body finish.
