6" (15 cm.) The distinctively-styled sac du voyage (or carpet-bag) has firm-sided rectangular base with canvas cover, leather straps and metal studs, beneath a woven tapestry valise with brass closure and woven bail handles. Very good condition. French, circa 1875.
