24" (61 cm.) Bisque socket head with elongated face and very plump lower cheeks and throat, blue glass sleep eyes, thick dark eyeliner, painted lashes, brushstroked and feathered brows, accented eye corners and nostrils, slightly-parted very full lips, two square-cut upper teeth and one lower, pierced ears, impressed philtrum and chin dimple, brunette mohair wig, early plump composition and wooden eight-loose-ball-jointed body with straight wrists, antique boy's costume and leather laced boots. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: 929 S 14 H. Comments: Simon and Halbig, circa 1885. Value Points: rare model, especially in this larger size, with finest luminous bisque, deeply-defined features, original body and body finish.
