Description
16" (41 cm.) Bisque socket head, very deep blue glass paperweight inset eyes, dark eyeliner, painted lashes and brush-stroked brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth, defined space between the outlined lips, pierced ears, blonde mohair wig over cork pate, French composition and wooden fully-jointed body with straight wrists. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: Depose Jumeau 7 (incised mark) Jumeau Medaille d'Or Paris (body). Comments: Emile Jumeau, circa 1884, the rare incised model was made for one year only. Value Points: especially beautiful model with very fine delicate complexion that contrasts the brilliant eyes, original body and body finish, fine antique costume with lace and cutwork, ruffled lace bonnet, leather boots with incised mark of doll on soles.
