19" (48 cm.) Poured wax shoulderhead, blue glass enamel inset eyes, tinted brows and eyeliner, closed mouth with accented nostrils, inserted blonde baby hair, muslin stitch-jointed body, wax lower arms and legs with grommet attachments. Condition: generally excellent, early repair on back shoulderplate. Comments: English, attributed to Montanari, circa 1880. Value Points: the gentle-faced baby is wearing beautiful original baby gown with lace trim, undergarments, cream cashmere cape with lace trim, white rabbit fur bonnet with silk lining and lace edging.
