14" (36 cm.) Solid domed bisque socket head, painted brown hair with forelock curl, intaglio blue eyes, black and incised upper eyeliner, closed mouth with shy smile, impressed dimples in cheeks and at corners of mouth, composition and wooden ball-jointed body, well costumed. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: 500 Germany A 2 M DRGM. Comments: Marseille, circa 1910, from their painted eye art character series. Value Points: hard-to-find little fellow with wonderfully detail dimples, fine luminous bisque.
